With the Client/Server version of P.I.M.S., can both Windows and Macintosh Terminals connect to the same Server?

Yes. Any combination of Server/Terminals can be used. You can have a Macintosh Server with Mac and/or Windows Clients and a Windows Server with Windows/Mac Clients.

Does PIMS-X handle "Gift Cards" and/or "Loyalty Cards"?

Yes. PIMS-X not only handles these types of cards, but does not require an external agency to do so. PIMS-X can reprogram a card on the fly with the IDTECH card reader/writer. PIMS is the only program on the Macintosh to do this. Optionally, PIMS-X can track Giftcards with only a Serial Number and no need for a Reader/Writer device.

Does PIMS-X process creditcards?

Yes. PIMS-X has the gateway to Authorize.Net built right in. There is no need for any additional software packages to run creditcard transactions. Cards are securely run over an Internet connection with blinding speeds!

Most of our stock is serialized. How does P.I.M.S. track serial numbers at the receiving end and at the front counter?

Receiving records and Orders have an area to enter serial numbers, and P.I.M.S. keeps track of them. Inventory items can be flagged to require serial numbers and if this option is chosen, P.I.M.S. alerts the user to enter a serial number whenever that item is loaded onto a receiving record or an order, so there should never be any missing serial numbers.

Our business barcodes most everything. Can P.I.M.S. print and scan barcodes quickly?

Yes. P.I.M.S. prints barcodes to a variety of output devices. from laser printers to the high-speed Barcode Blaster models. Barcode readers come in all shapes, sizes and connectivity. P.I.M.S. works with any of them that can connect via USB port(s).

I will want to limit access to the different areas of P.I.M.S.. How easy to do is this?

Assigning password access is extraordinarily easy. The passwording section can allow or restrict access to virtually every P.I.M.S. menu item. Group access can be defined and individual users can be assigned to that group for easy and non-repetitive changes later on. Practically unlimited flexibility and superb design make this section not only powerful, but quick and easy to use.

How does P.I.M.S. deal with a business like mine that performs repairs?

The Service Repair Order section is for you. Warranty repairs, part exchanges with your vendors, serial number tracking, repair history, time billing... these are all at your disposal so you can operate at peak efficiency.

We have tons of pre-printed invoices and want to use those. Will P.I.M.S. force me to purchase new ones?

No. The Forms Designer Module gives the user the ability to design custom Invoices, Sales Orders, Quotes, Packing Lists, Picking Lists, Rental Contracts, Purchase Orders and Service Repair Orders. If you choose to go with this option, you will have industry standard drawing tools and form techniques at your fingertips, and you will also have complete access to all P.I.M.S. fields and files. For those who need very complex output control, ExecUtron Development offers custom layout design and custom programming (if needed) to meet any user's needs.

We build our products. How does P.I.M.S. handle manufacturing and build schedules?

The Manufacturing Module (included at no extra charge) helps your business schedule and build finished products with unlimited levels of components and subassemblies. Also in the Module are calculator functions for the purpose of performing specific "what-if" calculations based on certain data criteria, automatic Work Order generation to eliminate double-entry, and even the ability to create Work Orders for specific Orders!

Does P.I.M.S. deal with RMAs?

Return Merchandise Authorizations are dealt with by P.I.M.S.' RMA section. This section offers such features as a reminder of the vendor's return instructions, invoice tracking, credit/reimbursement tracking and inventory on-hand updates.

I have a couple of stores. Can P.I.M.S. keep all of the different locations synchronized?

Yes. P.I.M.S. can connect to a central Server as long as you have a solid internet or VPN connection. There is also an optional "Data-Sync" Module that seemlessly synchronizes multiple Datafiles from multiple locations to a central "Main".

Can I rent and reserve inventory? How does P.I.M.S. allow for that?

With the P.I.M.S. Rental Module (additional purchase required) you can rent and reserve your inventory. The process is as follows: inventory items are loaded onto an agreement, the days and times for the duration of the rental are entered and P.I.M.S. calculates the charges immediately. The agreement is then turned into an invoice with a single click of the mouse and printed out. P.I.M.S. keeps track of the quantities on reserve, so you won't overbook. P.I.M.S. Rental Module deals with deposits, insurances, penalties, late charges, grace periods, rental on-hands, Serial number tracking, item "life" tracking, and even more.

What about accounting? Do I have to export out of P.I.M.S. and into an external accounting package?

No. P.I.M.S. has an integrated accounting module that does it all for you instantaneously. Invoices, inventory received, vendor returns, exchanges, inventory transfers, etc., are all posted to accounting automatically as these daily functions are performed.

I need contact management for my employees. Does P.I.M.S. have a calendar to track call-backs?

The Calendar Module (included at no extra charge) can automatically keep track of customer call-backs for each employee. Each employee has access to their own calendar as well as to the general calendar. Vacations, meetings, lunches, deadlines; all of these subjects can be posted to any or all calendars. Every Customer record also has a complete "Contact Management" section.

How does P.I.M.S. import and export data?

P.I.M.S. has an extensive Import and Export Module (included at no extra charge) that enables the user to import and export data to and from a datafile in any known format.

How secure is the connection between Client and Server?

PIMS-X has the option of SSL 128 bit connections between Client and Server machines. No certificates are required.

Does PIMS-X interact with any eCommerce applications?

Yes. PIMS-X can seemlessly bond to the PIMS-Classic ICM (Internet Commerce Module), and other eCommerce "Shopping Carts" for automatically receiving on-line Orders and updating Inventory figures.
