P.I.M.S. is a single "double-clickable" application. Most of its "Modules" are internal, and not separate programs. This keeps memory usage and processor time at its most efficient. Programs that are segmented into several applications tend to be more difficult to maintain, slower to accomplish tasks, as well as harder on most datafiles.

P.I.M.S. comes with most of its modules free-of-charge, except for the very specialized ones.

The following is a listing of available modules:

EDC Accounting Module:
This is a fully automated accounting system that is fully integrated directly into P.I.M.S. It allows P.I.M.S. to act as a combination bookkeeper and accountant. It automates the accounting process more than any other accounting package on the market today! It consists of A/R, A/P, G/L, Check Writing, and much much more.

Calendar Module:
This module allows users to keep track of events on any number of user-defined graphical calendars. There are many automated functions to aid users in distributing events from system-wide calendars down to employee calendars. There are also other sections in P.I.M.S. that automatically put information on calendars for you. (Customer contacts, etc.) Calendars are also available to the Internet Commerce Module...

Import/Export Module:
This module allows for just about any information to be exported from and imported into P.I.M.S. This Module has many unique filters to aid the user in these processes.

Forms Designer Module:
This module allows users to create their own output forms for the following sections of P.I.M.S.:

• Rental Contracts
• Invoices
• Sales Orders
• Quotes
• SROs
• Packing Lists
• Picking Lists
• Purchase Orders
• Labels

Service Module:
This module allows users to create and process Service Repair Orders (SROs). Full repair history by serial#, warranty tracking, and the like are also included. For Computer Dealers/Specialists, PIMS-X contains GSX functions and other SCM procedures.

Assembly Module:
This module allows users to initiate and track a manufacturing/assembly process. Workorders can be created manually and/or automatically, along with Build-Schedules, customer backorders, unlimited levels of components, sub-assemblies, cost-assemblies, "what if" calculators, process/status tracking, etc.

Locations Module:
This module processes multiple physical Locations. The User can create "Location" records for each of its external Locations. This includes Accounting overrides that are specific to a given Location, the ability to track Location specific Inventories, and the advanced "Data-Sync" process for automatically synchronizing multiple Datafiles to a single "Main" Location. Also included is the ability to perform "Cerntralized" purchasing and the transferring of Inventory from one Location to another.

WEB-Services Module:
This module allows PIMS-X to receive WEB Services XML/SOAP calls from external Internet based applications. Such applications are usually eCommerce WEB Sites. PIMS-X can update the Inventory figures and Customer information on these Sites, as well as receiving on-Line Orders directly into it's system for processing.

Subscription Module:
This module allows PIMS-X to process Customer "Subscriptions" and/or "Recurring Billing" functions. Subscription Processing allows a company to perform periodic fulfillment of products that a Customer has subscribed to. Generally, the Customer has paid for these products/services up front for a specified period of time. These "Sales" are usually booked as a Liability. During a "Subscription Run", the individual liabilities for that period for that Customer are automatically turned into processed sales and all accounting is delt with automatically. Recurring Billing is a different process whereby Invoices are automatically generated for a group of Customers who have subscribed to a monthly service and/or product mailing. Creditcards can even be run automatically for these groups of Customers as part of a "run".

ICM Module (Internet Commerce Module):
**Discontinued...

This module was a stand-alone module that automatically connected PIMS to the Internet. Unlike other e-commerce servers, the ICM was part of PIMS and allowed for the complete and total automated integration of all aspects of PIMS on the Internet. Using simple templates, the user could create elaborate WEB Sites with products listings, spec-sheets, order entry, unlimited searching/sorting, and creditcard processing in a matter of hours and not months. What made PIMS ICM so unique is that you need only add/modify products in your regular PIMS system, and these changes were reflected on the WEB instantly. Adding new price schemes to PIMS were also reflected instantly on the WEB. You could even set it up so that various types of Customers (Retail/Wholesale, etc.) could "Log-In" and receive special pricing based on their individual price codes. There were no limits to what could be automated by this module!. These some of the businesses on the ICM from our ICM Mall...

PIMS-X is backwards compatible with the existing PIMS-Classic ICMs still in use out on the Internet. The ICM was dropped from the product line and replaced with WEB Services...

** Other Modules are always under development. Such future Modules will be for Supply-Chain-Management (SCM), Higher-end Manufacturing, advanced Internet Tools, etc.
